Dutchess Outreach, a Dutchess County non-profit organization focused on widening food access, increasing advocacy, and providing vital community services, hired Katy Dwyer Design to refresh both their logo and their website.


Dutchess Outreach’s original logo, while not dated in concept, felt tired by design. And the Dutchess Outreach website had long passed it’s shelf life. Cumbersome to update, not mobile friendly, and difficult to navigate, it was clear Dutchess Outreach would benefit from a completely re-designed and re-thought web presence.

We began with the logo, creating a refreshed look and feel. Cleaner lines and a timeless font replaced a hand-drawn icon and faux-handwritten tagline. KDD created an icon that works both separately and in conjunction with the organization name. The colors were updated from a dull, heavy blue to a more vibrant take on the palette.

The website was developed in partnership with Dutchess Outreach. The client provided much of the content, with site map recommendations and other suggestions provided by KDD. We worked together to create a donation platform that worked the way Dutchess Outreach needed it to work.

The resulting website is a functional, easy-to-maintain WordPress site that can be kept current with featured items, news posts, upcoming events, and drives donations and volunteering.
